What's a Mason Jar? What's NAK?

Is it not just a gimmicky way of chopping veg in advance? Sorry, doesn't grab me.

NAK = nursing at keyboard - trying to explain brief OP (but is completely pointless as someone always asks what it means )

Yes, think it is just prepping meals in bulk a couple of days in advance, but was going to ask for clarification if anyone did it. Also wondering whether stuff goes brown etc.

I bet they used them during the war along with hay boxes.

Isn't this exactly the same idea as a Kilner Jar with a screw top?
