Invited to a cocktail party... help!

I have been invited to a cocktail night on Saturday and as the host is so lovely has insisted we 'just bring ourselves'. I thought I could take along the ingredients for a cocktail... but I have no idea what to take!

Does anyone have a fab cocktail recipie they would like to share?

Cosmopolitan - 2x vodka, 2xcointreau, 2x cranberry juice, juice of a fresh lime. Will make two (or one very drunk person).

I wouldn't take the ingredients ... your host has probably taken the time and trouble to buy everything they need; why not take a lovely bunch of flowers instead?

Reminds me of a dinner party I did some years ago - I had planned a starter of smoked salmon and soda bread - one of the guests turned up with a packet of cheap smoked salmon . Not saying your contribution would be cheap but you get my meaning .

I love a cosmo but thought it may be covered already.

I thought booze would be appreciated as 15 of us is a lot to provide cocktail ingredients for. I would always take along some flowers or choc's for the host regardless, just thought it would be a nice gesture but now worried I will offend
