I want to make this

penniesonaplatter.com/2012/07/16/slow-cooker-pulled-pork-with-peach-barbecue-sauce/

But she makes no mention of adding extra liquid.

I thought you needed liquid in a slow cooker, stew like.

But she seems to be slow roasting.

Is that right? And if so, is that recipe safe in the hands of a slow cooker novice who acts like the thing is going to bite her everytime she hauls it out and looks at it suspitiously ? Do you need to be confident with stew type things before branching out into roasting ? (or burning, which is a speciality of mine)

Plus

Is this worth getting for a newbie to slow cooking do you think? At least it's English not American so I'll have a better chance of getting the ingredients in it.

Before cooking; he also Always adds about 1-2 cups of Liqued (water, broth)
before starting the Slow Cooker up.Else, you'll get Burned Food,he says.Jill.

How odd, I was just about to a thread to see if anyone had tried pulled pork in a slow cooker so I've bookmarked your recipe. Thanks :)

It will be fine, you don't actually need that much moisture and the tomatoes and worcester sauce will add enough. Do you 2s_VwbICFeXMtAodwCUA9Qave a branch of 'The Works' near you? I got a slow cooker book from there for a few quid and it's got some good recipes in it - it's by Love Food.

I never add any liquid to anything I make in the slow cooker - there is no need and that's why people end up with tasteless slop Grin
