I have a punnet of plums that need eating so was going to make a crumble but I am not in the mood for rubbing butter and sugar together.

Is there an alternative?

Sort of- melt butter in microwave and stir in flour and sugar till it goes crumbly. Makes a more cakey crumble. I use half flour an half oats to make it rougher. ( 6 oz flour or flour and oats mixed, 4 oz butter, 2oz sugar, or golden syrup for a stickier crumbly thing! )

Yum, thanks! I'm not actually meant to be eating puddings at the moment so I might make it and put it in the freezer for when I'm off the diet Grin

Whack it all in the food mixer

I just blitz in food processor

Food processor every time. Plus, you can make it in bulk, freeze it and cook it from frozen.

smash up a packet of Hobnobs... but be careful because it will burn on the top a bit quicker than a normal crumble mixture.

Why didn't I think about using the mixer?!

Hobnobs...interesting...I would if something could be done with half a packet of ginger nuts?
