What to make. Ideas please. Nothing too tricky but I want it look good!

Could keep it simple, I've done pale pink icing, topped with dolly mixtures which is very cute! I always do elaborate cakes for ds, but then dd's birthday is only 6 weeks after his, and somehow can't face doing another cake marathon so soon.

ooh dolly mixtures.... that could be good! Have seen a nice one with love hearts on but they're a bit hard for a 2 year old.

Or you could do a butterfly - cut sponge in half, turn halves round to make wings, ice beautifully, and candles can be antennae.

How about making a pudding bowl shaped cake & sticking a Barbie body on top so cake is crinoline skirt - decorated with jelly tots & dolly mixtures?

nigella sticks a barbie doll in a pudding bowl shaped cake and decorates her "skirt" with sweets. Looks fab. guess age 2 is far too youg for Barbies, but cake looks great!
