to do salmon in white sauce with pasta do you cook the salmon first? poach it or pan fry?

you could poach the salmon in milk then use the milk to make the sauce or you could pan fry it and serve on top of the pasta in sauce

poach it or steam it over the cooking pasta

i find an easy way to cook salmon is a splash of lemon juice and bung in the micro for a few minutes (cant remember offhand, but its only 3 or 4 mins, maybe longer, its easy to see if its cooked through or not just keep checking it)
