Packed lunch ideas for BLW needed please!

DS is 11 months and starts at the childminders next and I need to do him a packed lunch and tea. Any ideas please so he doesn't end up with sandwiches every day?!

Hummus and wedges of pita and veg? Cheese & Cherry Tom Muffins, haven't made them but going to give them a try this week. Pasta salad and spanish omelette are both good cold. There are some good lunch box ideas on MN here and on the BLW website here.

Can the CM heat food up? If so try spag bol, soup and bread etc. TBH though, I've never heard of a CM asking you to take the food for the child.

Thanks for the ideas Jilted. I think he would love the muffins. I think this CM will heat things up but the last one we had wouldn't. I could also buy one of those insulated pots which keeps things warm which could help.

Hadn't realised that was standard practice with CMs. My only experience of them is my rather wonderful friend who provides the meals.

That is perfect thanks. I think the packed lunch thing just makes life easier for the CMs and at least I know that my DC like what is on offer. The problem is DS will throw at least half of everything I offer him on the floor and I pick it up and pop it back on the highchair table (inset second child emoticon here!) but I doubt she will do that so I will have to pack more than he needs.

Well, if she didn't serve enough he might soon learn not to throw it .

True! Maybe she can teach him how to nap and to sleep through too!
