Cake using Maya Gold

I want to make a chocolatey orange cake. I had a vague idea of making an all in one sponge and simply stirring in melted Maya Gold. Would this work?
It can be a round or loaf cake, I don't mind.

Oh, and no ground almonds in the recipe.

Dh made one with Maya gold using this recipe. It was amazing.
