Chicken cous cous, risotto, chick pea and cauliflower curry.

What flavours do you like?

TelephoneTree · 04/09/2012 20:17

Thank you for replying!

cous cous has gluten, rissotto has parmesan but the curry sounds lovely!

you can make risotto without parmesan, I have made a pea and prawn risotto which tasted much better without the parmesan.

Meatballs (pork or turkey) with red pepper sauce and rice?

sweet potato with feta (is this an ok cheese?) and olives

something with bulgar wheat (imagination left me)

sounds really difficult - I admire you for coping so far :)

Risotto rice does not have Parmesan in, you can google recipes and leave that out. I have an actifry which takes all the hassle out of risotto stirring. Or there's the new must have gadget that mumsnet are offering to trial but I'm not telling you about it because I want it!

Ihadn't realised the glycemic index of cous cous, sorry that wasn't helpful.

Do you like spices?

Lots of Mexican bean feast type meals that some could have with rice and others with jacket potato/ taco so there is more variety for some.

Stir frys, lots of veg again a tiny bit of chicken would go a long way if you flavour with stock to satisfy the meat eaters.

Soups that some have with bread like homemade chicken (hardly any meat is needed).

Off to google what can be made with rice flour.

gluten free flatbread
Looks very simple but I think gluten free flour contains potato powder. Is potato an allergy or dislike?

TelephoneTree · 04/09/2012 21:23

Thanks - these ideas are v good!
potato is an intolerance and I need to stay off it totally as part of my 'get clean' programme.

Such a nightmare.
My meals are boring and the kitchen is covered in pots and pans and 3 different meals each time. it's driving me nuts.
