When you buy a bag of spinach are you supposed to trim the stalks off the leaves before you cook it?

Coz it takes ages Shock

No, it will cook down and go soft. Just done a load now for the restaurant!

I do, if I can be bothered. But sometimes I just eat the stems.

No, but do give it a good rinse otherwise it can taste rather gritty.

I've noticed the grittiness too - it can really grate between your teeth - I've also noticed that the spinach is dirtier in the bag from some supermarkets.
