Breadmaking with KitchenAid - please share your tips

I've had my KA for a couple of months, but my favourite feature has to be the bread hook. I love making bread by hand but am not great at kneading -now the KA does it all for me - I don't have to get my hands dirty Grin

However I don't have a KA adapted recipe and am just learning by trial and error. Does anyone have any tips eg. how long do you knead the dough in the KA? and on what setting? I'm using setting 2 and kneading for ?4 minutes. The dough certainly comes out beautifully smooth and springy.

The recipe I use is very basic and I only prove the dough once, for as long as is convenient - so I'm no bread expert! Any tips gratefully received.

I think the basic rule is to divide kneading time by two (so if by hand you need to kneed for ten minutes, then with the KA it would be five).

Thanks, that makes sense.
