Are silicon cake cases worth getting?

Am rediscovering how much I loved making muffins but they all seem to stick to the paper cases. I've never cooked with silicon cases - are they worth it?

Thanks!

I hate them. Muffins still stick and you never get the crispyish outside bit. I use metal and no cases just grease lightly or spray the cases with a spray oil.

I have a mini muffin case in silicone and it's a pain.
I have to remember to have it on a baking tray before I add cake mixture as it's very unsteady to lift into the oven when it's full of cake mixture.

Oh, I've just realised that you mean the individual muffin cases in silicone. Sorry!
Can't advise on that.

I don't think they work very well. i have quite often found that the muffins or cakes are almost burnt on top and still runny at the bottom.

I love silicon muffin/cupcake cases! They stop mine from burning on the bottom from the metal before the middle is cooked through. Muffins are easy to take out unless you do a very very very low-fat version, in which case nothing will make it easy. To clean them, I put them in soapy water, take one in the hand and rub its insides against itself, if that makes sense. Sort of squeeze it together and rub. (oooh err!)

And way cheaper as a one time purchase than constantly buying paper or foil ones.

While the prinicple of silicone is very appealing, I think it's only any good for utensils not bakeware.

We have silicone muffin cases which are annoying as the muffins still stick and don't come clean in the dishwasher, and a cookie tray which doesn't get as hot as a metal one and things don't cook properly.
