Chocolate brownies

Can anyone point me in the direction of a really good chocolate brownie recipe? I usually use a Nigella recipe but had some home made ones recently in a cafe and theirs were so much nicer (I did ask for the recipe but they wouldn't give it to me).

I like brownies to be a bit goey/chewy and a thick crust on top, made with real chocolate, not cocoa. Any help gladly received, and I will update on my progress Smile

Yes. You need Nigel Slater's brownies, they are the only brownies.

I think there's also a thread on here somewhere trying to fnd a recipe to top them- AFAIK one was never found!

I haven't tried Nigel Slater's Brownies, but I will now. Grin

I recently made brownies with this recipe from Lakeland and was very surprised at how well they turned out. Lovely and gooey, with a crusty top, and made with real chocolate, not cocoa powder.

You need the ones on the recipe section here.

Iirc they were posted by mrswong or suziewong.

Stupidly easy to make and always come out perfect.

Dd1 and I made them yesterday for the millionth time.

Thanks for the replies, I will give them a go. I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong size tin, mine have been coming out a bit flat, and also a bit too dark (as in too chocolatey. My god I can't believe I wrote that, is it even possible to be too chocolatey?!)
