We have bought the packets to make it and while the red goo comes out ok, it just runs straight off the apples.
Throughly disappointing.

Not to mention the fact that it will ruin any bowl or pan you use.

I ended up throwing out a baking tray, a milk pan and a bowl.

Sorry I meant to reply on the other thread.

It came out a treat thanks Smile
The only thing was that I think the spices I used were a bit old as it wasn't mega tasty IYSWIM which, consodering it has Cumin, Tumeric and Paprika in, it should have a kick to it.

But it is a very good easy meal and dd was quite impressed even though fell asleep halfway through with a mouthfull of it Grin

4 to 6 dessert apples
8 oz sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup measured with a hot spoon
1oz butter
1tsp vineagar

gently heat sugar, syrup, butter, vineagar and 2.5 fliud ounce plus i tbsp water in heavy pan until sugar is dissolved

boil rapidly for 5 minutes until temp reaches 143 c

meanwhile push sticks into apples
remove pan from heat
tilt the pan so that toffee flows into deep puddle
dip aples twirling to coat
stand on wax paper or buttered baking sheet to cool
