money has been come very tight now (long story) i'm just wondering if anyone can give me help/advise on how to do meals for 2 adults and 1dc on a very tight budget, i'm lucky if i have £10 each week for food at this moment in time. any ideas or recipes to make own breads or meals would be good thank you.

i have discovered going to the supermarket after tea the best time to go because alot of things get reduced (i have just posed a thread in the credit crunch about morrisons tonight)

mince and yorkshire puddings with potatoes is quite cheap, pad your mince out with a couple of mushrooms, a couple of carrots and some onion to make it go further.

make your own shortbread biscuits

i find making your bread can be just as expensive as buying it from a shop when its on offer

pasta and sauce is cheap (buy a cheaper version sauce and add dried herbs to add flavour). my ds loves hotdogs or tinned ham chopped up in his !

homemade pizza (you an buy balls of mozzerella for about 50-60p) and add cheddar cheese as well.

homemade potato wedges - chop some potatoes up, lightly cover in oil (and mixed herbs for a change) and cook in oven - makes a change from chips
