My edges aren't all smooth and lovely, due to the fact I used grease proof baking paper all over the inside of the tin. idiot Ermmm. What do I do?!? Cover it with buttercream and hope for the best?!

REally, I don't think it will matter - unless you're in the WI/entering a county show?

You should have 4 flat sides - it top 1/bottom 1/top 2/bottom 2. You can choose which flat is the top and which is the bottom.
Is there a configuration that looks best?
