Accidentally frozen single cream

We have accidentally frozen some cream. The carton got pushed to the back of the fridge and was solid. It is now defrosted. Can we use it (in korma) if it smells ok?

I've always heard you shouldn't freeze cream but I think that must be from a taste point of view rather than safety as it is fine to freeze full fat milk and they are fundamentally not that dissimilar! Honestly, I would if I were you.
