PLEASE can anyone tell me what they think the curly things on the top of this cake are? I really want to use them for DS cake but have no idea

possibly floral wire?

They look like curled paper to me. You could probably make them from scratch by guilotining thin tapered strips of at least 150gsm and curling them at the end by scrping between a blunt knife-blade and your thumb - but if you go to your nearest www.hobbycraft.co.uk/ store or similar with that picture you might find you can buy them ready-made too.
