How much Weetabix is too much Weetabix for 2yo

We have fallen into a bad habit of having Weetabix on return from nursery at about 5pm when DS has already had tea at nursery. I give them one by one with milk but he will only stop when he's had 3 and I'm heavily pregnant and give in too easily. Do I need to break the habit?

Well if he's hungry perhaps they aren't feeding him enough for his tea. There's far worse things he could be eating.
Mine used to come home and have sandwiches after their nursery tea.

can you serve him a weetabix with banana to give more variety?

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 07/08/2012 18:07

I don't see the problem if he's hungry, healthy and active.

Better than a shed load of sweets.

(but I agree with False that perhaps a bit more variety would be good if it could be introduced gradually)

Is he actually eating his tea at nursery,or just picking at it?

MissPollysTrolleyed · 07/08/2012 19:52

I think it's just habit as it regularly happens on days when he is not at nursery and has a good tea at home. He's always been a milk fiend so maybe it's partly the milk he's after.

On the plus side, he suffers with constipation so the three Weetabix usually get him moving pretty quickly Grin.

DS2 had a phase of eating up to 3 weetabix of an evening about that age, and I suspect it was partly the milk he was after too. Probably growing!

Could be too mich wheat in diet if having other cereal/ bread through day that is wheat based

Try oatibix they taste the same but obv oat based instead

Maybe one/ two with banana as suggested
