DS2 was one yesterday and went on solids at 6 months. He is much more fussy than ds1 was but will still eat a range of foods.

WHat is your one year old eating? He is fussy about lumps and hard food.....grrrr

my one year old eats:

porridge
weetabix
toast
sandwiches (not always)
veggie soup
veggie stew with lumps
pasta and sauce
cooked vegetables
bananas
curry
chilli
rice
oranges (his fave atm)

erm... pretty much anything I eat tbh!

BUT... he has recently started not eating certain things. some "hard" things just get chewed a bit then spat straight out ie raw apple, rice cakes

mumfor1standfinaltime · 07/03/2006 21:12

At 1 year ds would eat mashed potato, mashed up sweet potato, mashed with a fork - vegetables.

Cheese on toast, scrambled egg,
yoghurts, beans, sliced banana, sliced apple, fillet fish fingers chopped up, oven chips, home made shepherds pie...basically everything we eat!

I have never used a blender/mixer. Have always mashed with a fork, that way I could do random lumps in the food which I could judge the size of!

starlover · 07/03/2006 21:13

oh and he loves scrambled eggs

Angeliz · 07/03/2006 21:16

spagetti bolognaise
spagetti with cheese (chopped up obviously)

Hi My little boy is one & he just seems to love food. Recently I have offered him lamb casserole with mash & mild curry with rice (no salt). I was quite surprised that he ate these, has anyone else tried such "grown up" dishes, or do you think this is too advanced for a 1 year old?
