I find it takes about five minutes for the yeast to be activated by the warm water, ten minutes to mix other ingredients and knead it and then an hour to rise, ten minutes to put on toppings, and then twenty minutes to cook in the oven. So start it 1 hour 45 mins before you want lunch.

Half an hour to rise if you put it in the airing cupboard Wink

My recipe is somehing like 200g plain flour, packet of yeast and ?200ml warm water. Mix in Kenwood for 5 mins with dough hook, put to rise for half an hour and then roll out to right size, put toppings on and cook in hottest oven for 10mins - about 45-50mins!

My recipe uses 500g of wholemeal flour and I do use the airing cupboard too but get better results with longer rising time. I think wholemeal flour must be heavier than plain.
bigTillyMint - I wish I had a dough hook. I think I might get a mixer with one for my birthday.

primi, I LOVE my Kenwood - it's so easy to make bread/pizza dough now, never mind all the other stuff Smile

Does the dough hook do the needing too or just the mixing Confused

It mixes the flour and stuff together and then kneads Smile

You can put the dough (in a bowl) in the microwave and give it 15 sec blasts on defrost to make it rise more quickly.
