Bought a pre-cooked whole chicken from Morrisons hot deli counter this morning - it has obviously now gone cold. How can I safely warm it back up? Am a bit thick when it comes to meat! Thanks in advance.

Suggest wrapping in foil so that it doesn't dry out and then putting in a low oven... 150C something like that.... for about 30 - 40 minutes

I think if you do the above should be fine however don't heat up more than you're going to use as you won't be able to use the leftovers.

Lovely - thanks!

i would not re-heat a chicken that was bought hot

it will have been 'cooling' down for hours and the nasty bugs are just waiting for you to give them that little boost they need to get going

As has been said you'll really have to eat it all tonight if you heat it up, I wouldn't, anyways, cold in this weather will be lovely!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 24/07/2012 18:09

I personally would just eat it cold in this weather, but have heated up a supermarket chicken like cogito says and it has been fine.

@UnChartered.... it's precisely to kill the 'nasty bugs' why I suggest reheating the thing to piping hot.
