A quick question about amounts for cupcakes

Morning all,

I need to make about 30 cupcakes and I'm not sure what measurements I should use. I'm thinking 10-10-10-5. Will that be enough for 30, generous cakes? Should I go 12-12-12-6?

Thanks all Smile

I'd have thought 10-5 should be fine

I would 2 batches of 6 - 6- 6- 3.

Then you can always make the second batch with 8, 6 or 4 depending on the quantity you made with the first lot.

But it depends if you can be faffed!

I'd do the bigger mix, better to have too much than too little. I usually only get ten cakes from a two egg mix

I always weigh my eggs, and use weight of the eggs in flour, butter and sugar. I think I'd do 6 eggs, unless they were very large.

I'd do 6 eggs too. A three egg mix ought to make 12-15 depending how generously proportioned they are

Rightupmyrue, have to be honest, i get the same results every time when i do 8,8,8,4 it makes exactly 18, and i always use an icecream scoop, you get the same sized cakes every time, if you've ever watched cupcakes wars on tv, they all do the same, so i tried it and it works fine.

I use 6664 for 12 muvffin case sized ones.

I find it never works as well if I double up the mixture but that could be just me!
