How long in freezer - lamb chops?

How long can you keep lamb chops in the freezer for? They were frozen on the day of purchase.

I usually keep things no longer than 3 months.

Dh is a chef and says.... 6 months.

it says on the door of the freezer - I thought it was 9 months for meat. why don't you defrost them and see, anyway? they might be a bit freezer burnt, but I'd eat them. mmmmlamb chops.
