TBH, unless you know the other kids will definitely eat more healthy things, I wouldn't go to too much trouble.... you may be left with a lot of leftovers - ime kids are so excited about the party they often don't eat a lot anyway. Make a few sandwiches to assuage your conscience, bowls of grapes, raisins, cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, etc. I usually do some cocktail sausages, maybe a pizza if they are older. It is a special day though so it won't hurt to let them have some crisps, biscuits, cakes, etc (unless there are medical reasons.)

In my experience they never eat as much as you think they are going to, so don't overdo it! A few sandwiches shaped with biscuit cutters or made into pinwheels if you feel so inclined. Finger foods - cherry tomatoes, raisins, grapes, cucumber/pepper/celery sticks - all very little effort. I always make jelly for mine, it is the only time of the year I do it, as full of sugar, but jelly and icecream with sauce and sprinkles ( you can get pots of freeze dried fruit if you don't want complete sugar overload) was all my DS asked for for his birthday one year. For my DD's birthday next week I will be doing chicken nuggets (well breaded mini fillets to be as healthy as poss)and oven chips with raw veg as above. I then put the effort into a cake as she wants a princess castle this year...
