how old is your child?

Plain spaghetti - no sauce EVER of any kind
Small amount of chips
Tiny roast potatoes as long as referred to as chips
Broccoli
Carrots
Peas
Cauliflower
Bananas
Apples but only sliced
Strawberries but only if decanted and claimed to be homegrown (I sadly kid not!)
Melon
Cucumber (at least 2 a week!)
Cheese but only one brand
Frubes
Chicken under duress
Surprisingly enough no problems with sweet stuff!

Drives me nuts so I've given up and leave him to his god awful bland diet

Oh and forgot the staple ham sandwiches which he would happily live off. Does like bread.

My 18 yr old nephew eats:
chips
roast potatos
crisps
sausage rolls
white pasta with very simple tom sauce
plain pizza
white bread
plain chicken breast (not very much)
orange juice

I have never seen him eat fruit or veg, and he makes a big performance if asked to eat other things. And yes, thats 18 yrs old, NT.

don't worry it will get better .... slowly but gradually.

At 3.5 my dd had quite a limited list of food that she would eat, now at 5 she's added cheese, pizza, eggs, broccoli Shock (miniscule amount tho), butternut squash, pancakes, fruit toast, dinner rice (if mixed in a sauce) and even a small amount of curry Shock [again]

Annoyingly some of the things she used to wolf down at 2 - mash, rice pudding, ham she now refuses to eat!

Never had a problem with cakes or biscuits Hmm

Thanks for giving me hope Woo it's so maddening isn't it! Laughing at some of the lengths we have to go to - no food touching, no bits, no sauce etc! Grin

DD1 (age 5) will eat:

Plain white bread or white rolls
Chocolate spread
Sausages
Sausage rolls
Pizza (just cheese, no tomato puree)
Baked beans
Tinned spaghetti
French fries (ie Macdonalds, no chip shop chips)
Garlic bread
Fruit Pots
Raisins (very occasionally)
And all manner of cakes, crisps and sweets

And yes, nothing can touch each other. She'll eat sausage casserole for example but only if I scrap off the sauce on the sausages and leave it on the other side of the plate, which she'll then eat. At least restaurants seem to be accommodating on putting beans into small bowls and not the same plate.

And no smells either! She'll often complain about my meal "smelling" and putting her off her own

MissWooWoo · 15/07/2012 12:14

crazy! at one point I remember removing skins from sausages Hmm

ah well, it'll all come right in the end Smile
