Cake suggestions needed please

I want to make a cake with mascarpone frosting and decorate it with strawberries. redcurrants etc. However, i have only ever used mascrapone on carrot cake before so not sure what cake to make?

This lemon and almond cake is lovely and the icing is easily adapted to use for a choc cake if you want.....just sieve in a couple of tbs of cocoa and leave out the lemon curd.

yes i noticed typo but too lazy to correct it! so mascarpone, chocolate cake and strawberries would go ok? i do make a good choc cake
