urgent- gluten free cake recipe ?

help, sisters birthday tomorrow and I thought mum had a cake ordered. Turns out she hasnt and I need to bake one eek. Must be gluten free. I have polenta plus most other cake ingredients in the cupboard and could send DH to tesco if needed. Hoping for a sandwich type one that I can ice.

Use almond flour... Search for recipes using almond flour. You can buy it from health food shops (ground almond). I've done a carrot cake like that before but don't have the recipe to hand...

Not a sandwich but nigella choc lime cake is divine

Doves farm self raising flour can be used to replace normal flour in any recipe. If you're really stuck marks and spencers do a fab gf chocolate cake and I noticed a lemon one the other day. Tesco's and sainsburys also do a plain jam sponge which you could ice and tart up.
