Buffet confusion

It's DD's christening on Sunday, how early can I make the sandwiches?? Would sat afternoon be too early, if they were put in the fridge? It will just be the usual boring stuff - cheese, ham, beef etc
Stupidly I've been thinking about this damn buffet since 4.00am....

The fillings would be fine I think but it's the bread that will go dry. I'd try and leave the sandwiches as late as you can.

Sorry! I know how tempting it is to get everything sorted in advance - on DS's christening I was up at 6am to chop the carrots, cucumber etc for the dips!

I agree I think the bread wouldn't be so nice. Things i'd do saturday is maybe cook pizzas up if having any cold pizzas, you could grate some cheese for sandwiches if having any and keep in sealed sandwich bag or tub, make tuna/egg/chicken mayonnaise. Also get everything non-food ready, so enough plates already out to plate it all up as you go. I find that I get stuff done so much quicker in the morning if I've just got a few things out ready the night before.
