Curry for supper - what for pudding?

Got some friends coming over for a curry this weekend. What can I serve them for pudding? They'll probably be quite stuffed from curry and naan etc but want to give them something sweet to end the meal with.

Cardamom creme brulee. Better than regular creme brulee. Keep portions small, as they will be a bit stuffed, but will still be unable to resist the tastiness.

Last time I did a curry for dinner I served fresh sliced tropical fruits as the dessert. Mangoes and pineapples and melon were all on special offer at the supermarket so I chopped them up and served them on a large platter. I served them with a jug of double cream to which I'd added a vanilla pod the day before, and with a jug of warmed toffee sauce to which I'd added a chunk of root ginger. the day before.

It was nearly as good as the curry. ;)

I'll second the tropical fruits suggestion, always goes well after a curry but my preference would be to serve with vanilla ice cream :)

Pistachio kulfi....you can get this at Tesco or Asda with some tropical fruits

choceyes · 02/07/2012 11:52

yes pistashio kulfi is fab as is rose kulfi.

Claryrocks · 02/07/2012 11:55

It is Indian icecream.

Kulfi is yummy. I always feel a bit cheated if offered fruit for pudding, but I am very greedy. You could do Indian rice pudding with pistachios sprinkled over it - would only need tiny portions as it is very sweet. Or if you have an Indian sweet shop nearby, you could buy gulab jamon (sp?) and heat through then serve with vanilla icecream. Or just buy lots of flavours of barfi - I love barfi!
