Roasting Bags - Recipes needed.

I'm a bit hooked on those Colemans Bag and Season pouches that have a roasting bag and seasoning sachet that you just add veg/meat/rice and bung in the oven. But need to rethink as they're high in salt. So if I buy the roasting bags separate what should I put in them instead? Any recipes out there?

Not used them before, but seen them advertised on the telly. I'm assuming the juices mix with the seasoning to give the sauce. Let your imagination run wild and put in what you fancy. You could also look at the list of ingredients and see if you can make up your own version, but without the salt.

  • A halved lemon and a couple of sprigs of thyme
  • Paprika
  • Ginger and lemongrass and a little chilli
  • Tin of tomatoes (or tomato puree if you don't want it too runny), garlic, and Italian herbs
  • Pesto
  • Chorizo sausage
  • Roasted peppers (you can buy these in jars if you can't be faffed with doing it yourself)
  • For a BBQ sauce - tomato ketchup, tabasco, worcestershire sauce, garlic

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but hope it helps.
