Red Velvet cupcakes and truffles.

1. Do you have a favourite red velvet recipe? I've never made them before and there seem to be a lot of recipes online. I've heard they can be quite tricky but does anyone have tips?

1. I'm making chocolate truffles but apart from coconut/nuts/cocoa, what can I coat them in? I'm making a few boxes of twelve, two of each so ideas are welcome.

Dip dark chocolate truffles in melted white chocolate.

red velvet is just a bog standard sponge with a bit of choccy powder, a shed load of red food colouring, and some buttercream icing. really simple to make.

never made truffles though so can't help there.

I think this is the recipe I have used They are scrummy (and taste just as good without the shedloads of red colouring if you haven't got any)

Did the red velvet cakes turn out tasty? I'm making them as gifts this Christmas but want to make sure I can make them well first.
