Please help me make my ds's birthday.

My ds has autism and has never felt able to cope with a birthday party (school one) until now. I would love to make this birthday so extra special for him but need a little help.

He is crazy for Cars 2 and has asked for a Cars 2 cake. However, I am thinking how nice would a cupcake tower be with red and blue iced cupcakes in black cupcake holders. What would be really nice though is to make or find some little cars to put on top of the cupcakes. Would this be possible ladies? I have no cupcake experience really, however I can bake and have iced with a star nozzel.

Any help would be so appreciated.

You can buy little icing squares with pictures on of favourite characters that are great for putting on top of cupcakes and biscuits - we have some peppa pig ones. Iirc there are loads on eBay - bet you could get Cars ones.

For ds's birthday he wanted a Thomas cake. I iced a cake green, made trees and a station from icing and piped a train track and then just put his Thomas train on top - looked great but didn't require me to create Thomas out of icing! If you have a lightning McQueen car could you do something like this?

Thanks fantastic. I did think of trying to do a cake, but just don't know if I will have enough time. It's next week and so much to do.
