How to make muffins people want to buy?

I'm quite good with making baked stuff that tastes nice but rubbish at making it look good.
I'd like to make some muffins for a cake sale, but no idea what sort and how to make them look edible. Help please!

Not at all - I was a bit embarrassed to ask the same question!

Not a stupid question at all, i came upon it by accident the other day, always on the look out for something to make life easier, i found a fab nozzle in TkMAXX, its a wilton nozzle long and slim with a slanted hole in the top, i used it for the first time today and made cupcakes with jam in the middle, i just filled up a disposable piping bag with jam then went right in with the nozzle, ( the secret is to draw the nozzle out as you pipe, sounds harder than it is really), just give it a go you'll be suprised how easy it is and i love the fact that no one knows theres jam in the middle.

Saying that you dont need anything expensive or special tools to do things like that, Have you ever seen Lorraine Pascale?she makes vanilla cupcakes, digs out the middle and puts some jam in, then uses a palette knife to spread a blob of buttercream on the top, she then puts a disc of sugarpaste on the top and decorates it, so simple and so pretty.

Babylabyrinth, theres no stopping you now! yes thats the right nozzle, its kinda cool really as its long enough to get right to the bottom of the cake, and no it isnt any good for weight loss unfortunately i've put on half a stone in 6 mths, not impressed at all!!
