Actimel - why not for under threes?

On the bottle it says (having inspected the packaging closely) not suitable for under threes? Any thoughts why - is it the sugar content?

Because it's arse.

You don't need it. It's sugar in a pot with marketing on the outside.

you can't buy normal supermarket things and recommend them on MN, come come, only allowed to recommend stuff you can only buy in one organic shop on Mars.

Is there any nutritional value to any of those yoghurt drink things? My kids love them but they are very expensive, will stop buying them if they are rubbish - however, my older two didn't catch the tummy bug which was raging around here a couple of weeks ago, toddler did - coincidence or not?

Just buy a pot of Yeo Valley's Natural or Rachel's and add pureed fruit to it. Does the same thing for much cheaper.

Ohh, I didn't even realise they were for 3+yrs.

oh well ds3 has been having them for yonks and he;s only 2.5yrs

Agree re Actimel as I reckon the sugar must aggravate the gut as much as the bacteria does it good!
Must point out that Petit Filous is not yoghurt at all!
We have Yeo Valley cos it's yummy- it does have sugar in but at least it's live yoghurt and made in the UK. Their fruit Tumbles are sooooo nice!

my 4.5 and 2.5 love actimel and the yagult friendly bacteria drink and has done them no harm.......so far!!! Touch wood they have both been well of late ...I have just jinxed myself ofcourse. obvioulsy theyonly get one or the other in a day not two in the one day.
