I only ask because i was on the lakeland limited web site yesterday and i saw a burger maker and it just got me wondering if it would be worth it to make them myself.

TIA

yes - they taste much better - coriander and chilli burgers are our fave - and that burgermaker is great for making nice even ones to cook on a bbq

RTKangaMummy · 21/02/2006 19:01

iota · 21/02/2006 19:01

You totally don't need a burger maker.

I make them, beef, chopped onion or garlic, crushed chillis, an egg, and a bit of bread. Shape them into balls, then smush.

we make burgers for the barbie in summer and people always ask what we put in them as they taste so good = answer = mince - shaped into patties. Absolutely nothing else!

Twiglett · 21/02/2006 19:33

yes .. and embarrassingly DH bought the burger maker from Lakeland and I took the mick out of him incredibly

of course, I use it loads .. and its worth it

I think it is worth a stab at making them yourself - you know exactly what has gone in them, can leave out salt completely etc, but I don't think you need a "burger maker". Surely you can just fry or grill them? I have never made beef burgers but have made my own lentil burgers with aid of just the frying pan!

fastasleep · 21/02/2006 19:37

runs to buy a cow so she can make her own mince too!

Twiglett · 21/02/2006 19:38

you don't need a burger maker .. but once you've used it you'll really really want one

tbf you don't need anything from Lakeland .. and yet it makes a fortune

I've got one, and we don't even eat beef. I make chilli lamb burgers - yummy!

bettythebuilder · 21/02/2006 20:37

Ah-ha, harrogate mum. It must all be down to the skill of the barbie chef.

rummum · 21/02/2006 21:02

I use my Mums old tupperware burger shaper...
Wouldn't be without it.... [sad emoticon]

rummums tip of the day cook the burgers in the oven... they cook through and you don't have to keep turning them over....

harrogatemum · 22/02/2006 08:45

betty the b - one would almost think you had tasted his legendary burgers!
