which BBQ do I get? Weber?

want to buy DH one for his birthday but not sure what to get. Definitely want charcoal as opposed to gas.
Am looking at weber ones, but am unsure whether the One Touch ones are worth the extra money, and also whether to pay the extra for a premium one which has an ash collector at the bottom.

Also, is it really worth spending that money on a bbq - I just don't know how much we'd use it

I've had a biggish Weber kettle BBQ with the ash collector for about 10 years. It lives outside all summer under a cover, goes in the shed for the winter and is still going strong. The ash thing just makes it easier to clean

hmm problem is we don't have a big enough shed to store it in, do you think if I bought a cover it would be OK outside all year round?

Mine has frequently been out there in the snow and ice on the patio, under its cover. Blush I've been through two or three of the proper Weber covers in 10 years. (Tried a cheaper one but that only lasted one season.) It's the stove-enamelling you're paying for. I've replaced the coal rack once because it corroded, the grill rack comes up lovely soaked in an Oven Pride bag and the enamelled part of the BBQ itself cleans up incredibly well with a bit of Jif and a plastic scourer.

My DH is having an affair with his Weber BBQ Sad he makes a wicked beer can chicken and is obsessed with the current programme BBQ University with Stephen Raichlen I think on the food channel - def recommend the Weber Grin
