Lower sugar sponge

Making DD some cupcakes to go to a party tomorrow, I want to take my usual Victoria sponge recipe and halve the sugar to save her teeth just a bit (!)

Will it still bake ok?
Thank you

I don't think so, but you can try.

If she eats all the sweet stuff all in one go then it won't make much difference whether she has 20g of sugar or 100g of sugar, as far as her teeth are concerned. And the recipe may not work, plus what will you ice them with?

Just give her a piece of cheese to eat on the way home.

Would love to MMRA - but she can't eat cheese unfortunately!

I might just go with the flow and do my usual recipe, she won't have more than one anyway

I did this with DS1 and it was fine. It baked OK - didn't taste as nice but turned out alright.
