I know I have to stay away from red meat, cheese/butter/cream and fried or spicy foods.

I am looking for light, tasty meals and snacks that will be good to my poor battered body, but that arent too plain and boring.

Ay ideas gratefully received!

My appetite was poor. A baked potato was too much. I had smaller meals and quite often some chopped fruit was enough. I didn't start eating bigger meals until I went back to work 12 weeks later

Did you have open surgery, Groovee? 12 weeks is a long recovery.

I had keyhole surgery two days ago, so although I am sore and my usually healthy appetite is a bit decreased, today I have managed a couple of slices of bread, a small bowl of porridge with fruit and some tea and plain biscuits. I need to move on to small, healthy meals though, as I feel a bit bloated with carby stuff....

Thanks for your reply.

I had keyhole but thanks to the surgeon not reading my notes and none of the team reading them properly, they didn't realise the egg sized gall stone wouldn't come out the hole, so bashed it about to break it up and internally bruised me.

I ate veg soup a lot and some chicken casserole but couldn't eat more than a small bowl.

I had gall bladder removed via keyhole this week too. I haven't been given any advice re what to eat etc so have just been eating as normal. Are there certain foods I should be avoiding? TIA

Pepperoni was one of my triggers before surgery, I still can't eat it now. I can eat bacon as long as its not crispy. I think it's trial and error for each person.

Had my gall bladder out several years ago and TBH I still have to be very careful. My mother aloso had her gall bladder out and says the same thing.

Spicey food kills me, red wine absolutely no way, no fatty meat either and careful with cream and only choose hard cheeses and nothing like Stilton.

Overall, I try to eat a lot more veg and fruit but have to take Gaviscon to combat the acid. I dont eat in the evening or only a very small snack.

You can eat everything you ate before but take note of what upsets you and avoid. It took me about 6 months to get back on track with eating full meals really. Hopefully, you will not be as bad as that.

I was back to eating normally within a few days.

Except cucumber.

Cucumber is now my nemesis! Angry
