Sandwiches, salads with potatoes or bread, pasta salad with tuna, mayo and other cripsy salady bits, rolls, pizza, party food - mini yorkshires, sausage rolls, spring rolls, bhajis and samosas, pies those are a few of the things that DD takes to school.

Pasta salad, couscous and spicy chicken (bit messy for kids), Indian rice salad & samosa, steamed salmon with potato salad.

How about wraps instead of regular bread or breadsticks with dip. Or even cold pizza?

Personally i love sushi and so do my kids but it's quite expensive. In Japan we had these lovely rice 'cakes' wrapped in seaweed which are yummy but i've never seen them in the UK.

Beanbagz If you like sushi, you can just roll one using a bamboo mat with things like cucumbers, carrots, tuna mayo inside. I wouldn't put raw fish in a lunch box without a fridge. It's super easy to do! It's not expensive if you think it's just rice and sandwich fillings, isn't it?

Have a look at justbento.com/category/filed-under/sushi

Also, have you got a onigiri mould? I got one on ebay, so I can make onigiri really quick. Just stuff rice and filling inside the mould, put the lid on. That's it. Easier than trying to roll hot rice in my hands definitely.
