Red wine in recipes...ok for children??

Thick question alert..

Is it ok to give children food that's been cooked in red wine? I want to make some steak cooked in red wine - it cooks for two hours. The alcohol won't still be present or harmful to them will it?

It should be fine. The alcohol will have been cooked out of the food by the time you serve it.

I do it all the time. As freckle says, the alcohol should have been cooked out of it by then.
mmm - sounds lovely, can I come for lunch?

Thank you Freckle. It's the first time I'll have given them beef (all the cjd stuff put me off for years) and wanted it to be nice for them as they like casseroles and veggies.
