Chocolate trifle

or something like it...

I have a lot of chocolate cake trimmings from DSs birthday cake, and thought I would try to turn it into a trifle for pudding tonight. I have cream (double and whipping), a giant bar of dairy milk, unsalted butter and some custard powder. I have other baking type stuff- icing sugar, golden syrup etc

No eggs, no cherries/raspberries, no alcohol (well, not for that anyway)

No shop I can be arsed to go to nearby

Is it possible? I thought I could make a ganache type thing maybe?

Made it once v successfully as a 13 year old. Involved chocolate custard and squirty cream with chocolate drops in. Ganache sounds way more sophis!

Think may have put black currant jam in a nod to black forest gateau!!

Hmm, I have some raspberry jam.

Not sure if the ganache will taste right? Shouldn't it be more custardy?
