so after making about 50 for DD birthday party it seems that I have been roped into making millions of the things for a charity event. (Ok, not millions but a LOT) so making the cake, blitzing with frosting, then freezing the balls is fine. But where do I buy probably in bulk the chocolate coverings in various flavours and sprinkles that dont cost a fortune?

I dont mind doing this, but I really dont want to pay loads for the hundreds and thousands and other bits to make them look lovely. I have milk and white chocolate and lots of glitters and some spinkles here, but those wont do for the amount I have to make.

Please help me.

I've never made cake pops, but I've noticed a website I use for cake stuff has a whole cake pops section, here:

ebay is quite good for sprinkles, there is a place in east grinstead that sells them by weight.
ASDA is quite cheap I find as well

As for covering I would use white scotbloc and colour it up with some gel colouring - it's thin when melted down and easy to use.

If you are making round cakepops get a block of oasis from the florist to stick them into and I would suggest using flat lolly sticks rather than round as I find they adhere better, making it easier to coat the pops.

If you're keeping to a budget Sainsbo's basics madeira slab is an excellent base

thank you very much nigelsaurus I am keeping to a budget. Will get on ebay to have a look. We have some lovely cake decorating shops around here but they are so expensive, but I know they have to make profit too.
