Celebrating mega failure!

My son wanted ake this morning, we had no butter so decided on an oil cake and then thought it was a good idea to put the batter in muffin tins so we can decorate them like cupcakes.

Just checked them - they have turned into scary cowpats! The mix is too wet and shiny and they just rose and sort of pooled. I will probably scrape them out of the muffin tin now. I bet my son will like them too, poor innocent lad :0

Oh dear

I tasted some after pulling it off the tin, it has the texture and taste of burnt plastic. Maybe I shall forever treasure this recipe as "toxic cake".

Ah well, there go the tv series and book combo I was secretly planning

Poor you. It's annoying when something you've put a lot of effort into comes out like cow pats.
DD and I are supposed to be making savoury muffins later. TBH, I just CBA.

Cowpat cakes, yum ;) ah well you have good reason to go out & buy a replacement or two!

What is rather sweet and a bit sad is that my son still liked them...I spooned each one out of the crusted ton and he excitedly sprinkled each ugly little shape with hundreds and thousands. Just proves that three year olds have no taste!
