Am in the middle of doing the shopping list and each week I buy robinsons no added sugar cordial. I hate giving it to the kids though as of all of the sweetners etc...thats in it. So before I add it to the list again could you please let me know what you give your children to drink??

Water and milk. That doesn't help you though.

harpsichordcarrier · 17/02/2006 15:48

watered down apple or orange juice mainly

edodgy · 17/02/2006 15:48

water and milk here too

Twiglett · 17/02/2006 15:48

water

milk .. had to give DS milkshakes before he'd drink milk

50:50 water and apple juice / water and cranberry juice

serenity · 17/02/2006 15:49

Dh won't have no added sugar squashes in the house because of the sweetners, so we just get ordinary 'chock full of sugar' squash, either shops own or whatever is on offer.

WigWamBam · 17/02/2006 15:50

Water or watered-down fresh apple or cranberry juice (probably about 20% juice).

Kidstrack2 · 17/02/2006 15:50

water and milk only in the mornings, can have a cup of robinsons diluting juice at lunch time and tea time, and only water and milk at evening

cori · 17/02/2006 15:50

Juice, usually concentrated form in cartons. It does have loads of sugar, but I always water down. Its just too sweet even for me. Tesco's healthy living range of Juices is quite nice, not too sweet and not many artifical sweetners

Piffle · 17/02/2006 15:51

innocent smoothies/fresh fruit juice watered down for dd (3) and water and milk.
She only has the juice once a day.
I'd never do artificial sweeteners as at least with high juice its just sugar and you can regulate its impact (on teeth) by how often you give it and by teeth brushing.
Who knows what sweeteners do, I'm really really anti sweeteners though

My DS will drink water, but not that much, so tend to give him milk, fresh apple jusice and sometimes Robinsons Orange and Pineapple squash (no added sugar).

compo · 17/02/2006 15:52

water and milk

Mazzystar · 17/02/2006 15:52

water. milk. seriously diluted fresh juice. fennel tea.

Marina · 17/02/2006 15:53

Water, milk, fruit juice sometimes with meals, organic squash (with no art sweeteners in it) for treats, ds, who is six, is sometimes treated to a fizzy drink.

Marina · 17/02/2006 15:53

Forgot redbush tea - ds likes a cup of that! (caffeine free and very low in tannin)

compo · 17/02/2006 15:54

ds only gets squash at Mother and Toddlers and boy does he love it!! He drinks a whole beaker really quickly and then asks for more!!

jabberwocky · 17/02/2006 15:54

water and milk

orange juice if he has a cold and as a treat at Sunday breakfast.

madmarchhare · 17/02/2006 15:55

Water, milk, and occasionally very diluted fresh juice or hi juice (with sugar) at teatime with his meal.

Angeliz · 17/02/2006 15:55

water and milk, sometimes apple juice but she's gone off that. (ddaged 4). DD1 ,(11 months), just water, she has tried juice GASP but doesn't like it.
DD1 has coke when we're out but i don't buy it for home so probably about once a week.

expatinscotland · 17/02/2006 15:56

Milk, water and water diluted w/apple juice.

KBear · 17/02/2006 15:59

High juice blackcurrant
DD loves water
milk
OJ, apple juice, cranberry juice
Occasional slurp of coke/lemonade (you know it's someone's birthday when mum buys fizzy!) ha ha

mcmudda · 17/02/2006 15:59

Fresh juice and water (50:50) for meal times.
Rocks organic squash (orange and lemon in cupboard atm - no artificial anything and v tasty) for mealtimes.
(Pink milk for bribes - blame Charlie and Lola!)
Milk for snack time.
Water for night time if ds asks.

WideWebWitch · 17/02/2006 16:04

Water
Innocent smoothies
apple juice or apple and mango juice

harpsichordcarrier · 17/02/2006 16:08

I think ROck's organic is revolting; it's really gritty
yes she also has smoothies, I forgot about that
and sometimes "pink milk", the blame for which I lay at the door of Lauren Child

suzywong · 17/02/2006 16:09

Gin

expatinscotland · 17/02/2006 16:09

I make the most awesome smoothies - years of practice! And freeze 'em into lollies for DD1 to get some fruit into her.
