Am in the middle of doing the shopping list and each week I buy robinsons no added sugar cordial. I hate giving it to the kids though as of all of the sweetners etc...thats in it. So before I add it to the list again could you please let me know what you give your children to drink??

Water, rice milk or watered down apple juice in this house.

I don't and won't be buying any of the sugar free, no added sugar drinks can't abide sweetners, hate the taste really.

Water and milk, and occasional fruit juice's not from concentrate. Apple or Orange.

Basically i buy one or two cartons when i do a big shop - once they run out its back to water and milk!

But dd would be happy with milk milk and more milk.

only water for eldest 2, mostly water, occasionally milk.

Ds2 used to only drink cordials & I just decided one day to stop. He moaned for the first day (not much either) and that was it. It doesn't have to be as hard as you may think to stop.

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2006 19:32

Water
Milk (mine)
Milk (soya)
Milk (cow's) if he wants it, at someone else's house
Redbush tea
Dilute fruit juice for a treat

mojomummy · 18/02/2006 19:56

very diluted pressed red grape juice or very diluted pomegrante (pomegreat) juice with breakfast.

Water during the day

Same juice as breakfast for lunch & dinner.

Milk before bed. DD is 2 yrs 8 mths old

Actually today, when we had our coffee, she had 'coffee' which was vanilla soya milk in a little melamine mug, which she drank standing in the kitchen, with one leg crossed in front of the other....

mojomummy · 18/02/2006 19:58

Ooh I tried DD on redbush tea about a year ago. I bought the Clipper natural flavoured banana one, she didn't go much on it, maybe I should try again tomorrow.

Angeliz · 18/02/2006 20:01

Nixz, i am so glad you said that as i just scanned and thought i'm the only one who had owned up to that!

GDG · 18/02/2006 20:03

Water
Milk
Chocolate milk (as an occasional treat and 'watered down' with normal milk!)
Diluted apple juice
Diluted orange juice

Lauraa83 · 18/02/2006 20:08

Ds is 20months, he has...

Milk
Water
Fennel Tea or other fruit teas sometimes but he prefers water

that's it

Oh, and he absolutely loves carrot water, not carrot juice though, just the water they are cooked in, it's been his favourite since he was a few months old!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 18/02/2006 20:10

JESS : Milk by the bucket load and Robinsons Fruit and Barley Summer Fruits squash (slash in the bottom of beaker and shed load of water)

She will occasionally drink plain water, but bottled only - HATES tap water! (Fussy cow)

I drink squash by the bucket load so cant really say she cant have it.

BECKY : Formula milk by the bucket load and have just started offering cooled boiled water in a beaker but is so far spitting it out (she's 17 weeks) but want to get her on a cup sooner than Jess's 11 months! (Oh and i HAVENT weaned yet)

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2006 20:11

Mojo, I have never seen a banana flavoured Redbush, that sounds very intriguing. Where did you get it?

mojomummy · 18/02/2006 20:15

Hi, I got it from tescos - smells yummy. it's Clipper, here's the jargon from their website

Clipper Kidz-T is packed full of natural banana flavour just bursting to get out.

It's a blend of organic Honeybush and Redbush (Rooibos), real organic pineapple pieces, and a gorgeous banana flavour that's great with milk.

Caffeine-free Honeybush and Redbush have a gentle calming effect, so Kidz-T is great to have at night.

Kidz-T is completely new, but the ingredients have a long history. For centuries mothers in South Africa have given Redbush and Honeybush to their young children as a pacifying infusion.

Kidz-T contains 93% organic ingredients, and is completely free from caffeine, gluten, sugar, and artificial ingredients. This makes it suitable for all 'free-from' diets, and is a brilliant drink for any time of day. Try it iced - it makes a brilliant chill-out drink.

Clipper Kidz-T is a really delicious and more healthy alternative to sugary, additive-rich soft drinks.

Shouldn't your kids get into Kidz-T?

Available now in Tesco, and via mail order from Clipper Teas on 01308 863344.

(oops posted 2x!)

Veggie · 02/03/2006 09:56

Water, Milk, occasionally juice, fruit tees and herbal tees (without adding sugar!).

intergalacticwalrus · 02/03/2006 10:12

Water and milk here too. DS isn't that keen on juice, but he has it v occasionally. We don't drink cordial, mainly coz it tastes rank.
