If i make marzipan shapes for cake decoration, do they, or the whole cake need to be kept in the fridge? How long does it last?

marzipan is fine out of the fridge.

The cake should be fine in an air tight tin for a couple of days unless you have filled it with fresh cream - then fridge it.

No fresh cream. Just realised that i didn't actually know how to store cakes!

Don't have a cake tin!

On a plate with a loose covering of foil will do.
