Which is the best standard cupcake recipe?

I am actually looking for ideas for jubilee cupcakes. Has anyone got any ideas/links?

I have never made cupcakes before and so would apprecaite any tips/advice.

There is a cheap cake decorating magazine that has a special Jubilee edition in the shops just now, it has some fab freebies with it too.

Thanks for those responses. I am assuming they wont be that complicated, its just the decorating that I am not that good at!
