Aspartame and Slimming World.

I've been an insomniac since my teens and I've been doing slimming world since Sep (have lost 2lbs! Grin). I found my sleep getting worse and worse. Finally narrowed or down to the vast amount of aspartame I was having in muller lights, diet coke and squah etc. It was also having other horrible effects, shakes, heart palpitations etc. yuck.

Anyway, have cut it out for the last fortnight and noticed a dramatic improvement. Brilliant. However, apart from Activia vanilla flavour, all other fat free brands seem to contain it. My local Asda and Sainsbury's don't carry their own brand fat free versions and I'm really stuck with any flavoured, fat free yogs that don't contain it.

Any ideas? Going to email the store managers of both to see if they can include their versions and cross fingers. Any ideas in the mean time?

Just had a bag of Velvet crunch and saw it was in there too. Bloody stuff!

Sorry for typos. On my phone!

Just buy a good quality low fat plain yoghurt and add your own chopped fruit. It'll be much nicer.

Thanks for the reply Cogito. I've been doing that, but I'm a bit bored with it. It's lovely, but the sheer amount of fruit I'm eating is costing us a small fortune! I also want something I can just grab and go too. Someone has suggested Easiyo as they don't include any sweeteners and are very low Syns...

I know what you mean. I do sw too and although I really like the diet, I don't like the reliance on artificial sweeteners. I prefer to just have fruit than some weirdy dessert made from quark and canderel.

Sorry, no real suggestions though!

Was that a typo re your weightloss or have you really only lost 2lb since September? Confused

I've lost 21lbs! BlushGrin
