Quick pesto related advice needed please

i have a revipe fir pesto which requires pine nuts, i dont have any, but i do have pecans, will that just be nasty do you think?

imo you def need pine nuts....I think they have quite a sweet & creamy taste. Pecan might work - might be ok but don't think it'll taste as nice

No pecans will not work, you need the flavour from pine nuts (which are savoury rather than sweet) for the proper pesto taste.

No to pecans but yes to walnuts or cashews.

I used pecans in the end, it was delicious! With basil, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper and pecans.
